Before most people begin their day, ICL, a global specialty minerals company, is already moving. At the White Acid & MAP Plant, the maintenance and operations teams moved their daily coordination onto a digital twin of the plant, so every fault and every task now runs through one connected workflow.
The challengeWith faults spread across all of those channels, it was very difficult to track them, and very difficult to analyze each one properly. The challenge was not creating more information. It was connecting it.
The approachTo connect the work to the real plant, the environment was scanned, mapped and brought into the workflow. Each location and asset in the twin became a place where a fault can be reported, assigned and closed.
Today, with the digital twin, all faults are reported in one system and in a unified way. Everything flows into the board, and each task is assigned a key and a fault location based on the digital twin. The same workflow also supports task closure.
From the board to the plant itself, every task is part of one connected workflow. The technician documents the work directly from the field, and the entire team sees the update as it happens.
The platform also had to fit how the plant already works, rather than ask the teams to change their routines.
The fault board that used to run on sticky notes is now digital. Reports that came in on paper, in SAP and on WhatsApp all land in one system, and the change went in without friction on the plant floor.
After the first line proved itself, ICL decided to take the platform further.
From connected workflows to spatial intelligence, the plant becomes easier to understand, manage and act on. One workflow. One connected plant.
